The Program

The Lancaster County Keepsafe Program is an independent, non-profit organization, under the Lancaster County Sheriff's Office, dedicated to enhancing the safety, wellbeing, and quality of life for senior citizens throughout Lancaster County.

For many years, the Keepsafes  have been an integral service of the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office, providing daily telephone check-ins to senior citizens enrolled in the program.

Now officially established as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, The Lancaster County Keepsafe Program is expanding its services to meet the evolving needs of Lancaster County’s senior community. The expanded program aims to combat social isolation, promote mental and emotional wellness, and build community connections through initiatives such as volunteer visit teams, workshops, social events, and partnership programs with local agencies and organizations.

While the daily phone calls are made by the Lancaster Sheriff's Office Dispatchers, all other programs offered, are planned, organized and run entirely by dedicated volunteers who give their time and talents to serve our community.

All programs are made possible only through donations. We rely solely on these contributions to fund our services. Donations go directly toward supporting our programs and the individuals we serve. Every contribution, no matter the size, plays a vital role in helping our mission thrive. As we continue to grow and meet increasing needs, we are hopeful to secure grant funding to expand our impact and strengthen the services we provide.
